A program for the integration and retention of women in the construction sector
In partnership with the Secretariat for the Status of Women, Les Elles de la construction is committed year after year to promoting the integration of women in the construction industry and their continued employment through the implementation of concrete actions as part of the Diversity and Inclusion program. The 2023-2025 phase includes three major components: welcoming environment, promoting careers, and mentoring.
We are proud to play a driving role in transformation within the construction industry. Through this program, all stakeholders, women and men, are encouraged to contribute to the solution for more diversity and inclusion in this important construction sector for the Quebec economy. Our actions target small, medium and large construction companies as well as CEGEPs and universities.
“Together, women and men, let’s shape the future of the construction industry by promoting equity.”
Promoting the tradeswomen in construction
Discover our innovative program dedicated to the advancement of women in the construction sector. Our initiative aims to raise awareness of the reality of women in this field, while providing women with the tools necessary to stay employed and succeed in their careers. We are committed to reducing bias against women in construction, highlighting their skills and essential contribution to the industry.
Our program also aims to attract a new generation of girls and women to the construction trades, showing the opportunities and benefits they offer. We work on improving the hiring and retention processes for women, by creating an inclusive environment favourable to their professional development.
Join us in this journey for a more diverse, equitable, and prosperous construction sector.
Diversity and Inclusion Program
Welcoming environment component
We offer tailor-made training to managers in construction companies, aiming to create an inclusive working environment where women feel valued and fulfilled in their role. This training actively promotes diversity and inclusion within existing teams, taking into account the challenges encountered. By offering concrete solutions for the recruitment and retention of female staff, it helps to strengthen the commitment and satisfaction of female workers. At the end of the training, participating companies are awarded the “Healthy Company Culture” seal.

Trade promotion component
We encourage new generations of women to consider a career in the construction industry by lifting the veil on the various professions open to women and often unknown to the general public. Through information sessions, workshops and conferences, we make them aware of the many opportunities and careers offered by this field. We work within CEGEPs, universities and vocational training centres, as well as at trade fairs and the media, so that women seeking career guidance and retraining discover the construction professions.
Mentoring component
We offer personalized support to professional women, women entrepreneurs and tradeswomen whatever the stage of their career. Whether they are at the start of their journey, in the start-up or acquisition phase of a business, or looking for new professional challenges, our community of experienced mentors, made up of inspiring women in the construction sector, guides them towards success by sharing their expertise and providing invaluable support. This program helps them achieve their professional goals through strategic advice, ongoing professional development, and caring support.
