Souad Elmallem: Ambassador of the 2025 Gala

Souad Elmallem, a public figure in the business world in Africa and North America, is originally from Casablanca. She studied law at the university level in Morocco before continuing her studies in Canada. In 1998, Souad earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree with a dual concentration in Production Operations Management and Information Systems from HEC Montréal, Université de Montréal.

In 2001, after a career at Nortel Networks, Souad joined Bombardier Aerospace to lead the initiative for defining and implementing the Manufacturing and Information System for the Quality and Operations teams in Mirabel and Saint-Laurent. Starting in 2005, she shifted her focus toward strategic planning and governance for Information Technologies in order to define strategic direction. She developed integrated IT strategies in support of Bombardier Aerospace’s executive teams worldwide.

Thanks to her strong intrapreneurial qualities, her ambition to develop the aerospace sector in Africa, and her ability to successfully lead large-scale strategic initiatives—such as Bombardier’s establishment in Morocco—Souad was appointed in 2011 as Chief Representative, CCR, supporting all Bombardier business units. Her main role was to design and execute regional development strategies for Bombardier Aerospace and Bombardier Transportation, create and manage strong networks of relationships with governments and strategic stakeholders, and support all company activities in Africa.

In 2013, in recognition of her contribution to the development of Morocco’s aerospace industry, Souad was awarded the Royal Wissam of the Grand National Merit by His Majesty the King of Morocco.

In 2015, Souad founded 6temik, a capacity-building company that helps businesses improve financial performance and control operational and labor costs while gaining international market share. To achieve this, 6temik focuses on three key areas: international deployment, development of an international sales force, and deployment of satellite teams. 6temik assists companies in selecting, building, fitting out, staffing, and launching operations in another country, developing an international sales network, and rapidly deploying satellite teams that work remotely while integrating seamlessly with client teams.

Souad’s strong ties to the African continent are demonstrated by her continued involvement. Souad has been a founding member of Women in Aerospace Africa since 2013. She has also served as President of United Actions for Africa (UAA) since 2022.

Souad is an ICD-certified corporate director and serves on several boards of directors:

In 2018, Souad was appointed to the board of Entreprendre ICI by Quebec’s Minister of the Economy. This government-funded organization supports and advises newcomers and entrepreneurs from ethnocultural diversity. In 2021, Souad was unanimously elected Chair of the Board.

In 2023, Souad was appointed to the board of Meloche Inc., a flagship company of the Canadian aerospace industry, to the board of the École des Entrepreneurs du Québec, as well as to the board of Desjardins Capital.

Finally, on September 20, 2024, Souad was honored in Ottawa by the Senate with one of Canada’s most prestigious awards: the King Charles III Coronation Medal. Recognizing her exceptional contribution to Canada’s economic development, this prestigious award—created to mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III—celebrates the achievements of individuals who have made significant contributions to Canadian society. As an influential entrepreneur, Souad Elmallem embodies the values of excellence and dedication at the heart of this honor, having brought international recognition to Canada.
