June 12 - Webinar Green Infrastructure: Key Solutions for Combating Climate Change and Enhancing Our Living Environments

12:00 PM

Virtual

By Michel Rousseau

Rising temperatures are one of the major impacts of climate change. While these effects will be felt globally, what about at the local level? Warmer temperatures will impact wildlife, vegetation, and individuals, creating challenges related to supply, comfort, and health. An effective and proven solution is to reduce heat islands by greening our properties, cities, and territories. Green infrastructure is increasingly used in urban and suburban areas to combat climate change. It serves multiple functions simultaneously: managing stormwater, cooling and protecting roofs, while providing healthy and pleasant living environments. This type of infrastructure comes in various forms, each with its own characteristics. This presentation will explore the different types of green infrastructure, how they function, and how they are maintained. It's even possible to calculate the benefits they offer, whether in terms of temperature, GHGs, or money saved. Let’s focus on green infrastructure!
