Elles font plus que la job is led by SORIF, an organization that has been promoting equal opportunities in the workforce for over 40 years. By supporting women in career guidance, returning to education, or entering the workforce, SORIF is committed to building a future where every woman can choose her path, regardless of the sector.
Scholarship « Elles font plus que la job - Montreal »
Scholarship « Elles font plus que la job - Montreal » was created to highlight and support women who choose to pursue careers in traditionally male-dominated trades.
The idea initially came from a simple observation: many female students persisted in these demanding programs but did not always receive the recognition or financial support needed to complete their projects.
Organizations involved in women’s employability wanted to create a concrete support mechanism to both encourage these non-traditional career paths and recognize the contributions of women in fields where they are still underrepresented.
The scholarship began modestly, with the support of a few sponsors and partners committed to workplace equality. The initial goals were twofold:
- Provide financial support to students to reduce barriers in their career path
- Celebrate their determination by sharing their inspiring stories and giving them visibility
Over time, the scholarship has gained recognition and attracted more partners, allowing the award amounts to increase and its reach to expand.
Today, it is seen not only as financial support but also as a powerful symbol of recognition and solidarity for women who are paving the way in non-traditional trades.
