Looking back at the Elles’ mission at the CEGQ Congress
Looking back at the Elles’ mission at the CEGQ Congress

February 23rd, 2026

The Elles de la construction were officially present at the CEGQ Congress with two clear objectives: to raise awareness among Quebec general contractors about the importance of supporting the mission of Elles de la construction, and to promote ESSI certification in order to foster healthy, safe, and inclusive work environments.

Mission accomplished?

With over 500 participants gathered on site, the congress provided a unique opportunity for exchanges, reflection, and strategic meetings with key players in the construction industry.

A call for commitment directed at contractors

At the congress, Elles de la construction invited general contractors to take concrete action to promote a more inclusive industry. Several avenues for engagement were highlighted:

  • Become an allied member
  • Actively support the mission of Elles de la construction
  • Discover and collaborate with our partners and projects
  • Open the doors of their companies to our community
  • Establish and maintain a culture of integrity

Women in construction are at the heart of our growth.

A strong and committed on-site presence

Elles de la construction had a booth on site to showcase their mission, present their initiatives, and engage directly with participants.

The booth was hosted by Stéphanie Lévesque, Project Manager of the F.I.C. program, alongside two board members:

  • Sarah Fekih, President of Cohésion Architecture
  • Florence Morin-Laurin, President of FML Consultation

“Being present at the Quebec General Contractors Congress confirmed to me that women’s place in construction is no longer an exception, but a business reality.

Our vision goes beyond simply having women on job sites. We believe in a true change in behavior, based on professionalism, respect, and collaboration. Diversity is a strategic advantage, but above all, it is the lasting transformation of on-site practices that will drive the evolution of our industry.”

— Stéphanie Lévesque

A strengthening relationship with the CEGQ

Elles de la construction has also become an official member of the CEGQ, a key step in building a lasting relationship with the association’s members.

This collaboration will include:

  • Increased visibility on-site
  • Active participation in committees
  • A direct and strengthened connection with Quebec general contractors
