Under the theme “Stepping Outside the Four Walls,” this year’s edition was an opportunity to reflect on the obstacles that remain, share experiences and explore concrete ways to change practices and mindsets in our industry.
Breaking down the barriers holding women back in construction
Behind every invisible wall lie realities that must be acknowledged: professional obstacles, persistent biases, organizational cultures in need of change, and opportunities that can still be hard to access.
The Bâtisseuses Congress made it possible to tackle these issues together and to reaffirm a core belief: no woman should have to leave the construction industry because she cannot find the place she deserves.
Supporting women’s advancement, improving their access to professional opportunities and creating more inclusive workplaces are responsibilities shared by the entire industry.
Conversations that turn reflection into action
Through panels and workshops, participants exchanged ideas, questioned certain practices and drew inspiration from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
These discussions highlighted the importance of continuing efforts to transform organizational cultures, encourage women’s leadership and open up new possibilities within construction companies.
Beyond the reflections, above all the Congress fostered a shared determination: to turn the ideas exchanged into concrete, lasting action.
Building a more inclusive construction industry
Change doesn’t stop when an event ends. It continues on job sites, in offices, within teams and in the decisions organizations make every day.
Moving the construction industry forward requires an ongoing commitment to breaking down barriers, fostering diversity and creating environments where women can thrive, advance and build their careers.
Les Elles de la construction warmly thanks everyone who contributed to the success of this edition and who, each in their own way, is helping to drive this transformation forward.
Together, let’s keep stepping outside the four walls to build a construction industry where every woman can claim her place and keep it.
