The “5 à 7 Découverte” was held in an atmosphere that was both friendly and professional, organized in partnership with Atwill-Morin around the theme Talent and innovation in the renovation of multi-residential buildings. The event brought together 76 participants at the company’s offices in Montreal, gathering key players from the construction industry.

Throughout the discussions, participants highlighted concrete approaches and innovative solutions to address the current challenges facing the industry, particularly in building renovation. Attendees were able to share their experiences, compare real-world field realities, and discover practices adapted to today’s evolving needs.

Beyond the technical content, the event also provided a valuable networking opportunity. In a relaxed atmosphere, conversations continued through engaging and light-hearted activities, including a longest drive competition, allowing participants to test their skills while strengthening connections within the community.

A panel of expert female professionals from Atwill-Morin

The panel dedicated to the renovation of multi-residential buildings highlighted the expertise of three field professionals from Atwill-Morin, who shared their experience and insights on the industry’s current challenges.

Marie Lanouette, estimator, along with Nataly Cortes and Catherine Caron, both engineers and project managers, discussed concrete issues related to building renovation and the long-term sustainability of the housing stock.

The discussions focused in particular on the protection of residential heritage and balcony restoration, highlighting the importance of early detection as an investment lever. The panelists also addressed logistics adapted to occupied buildings, structural rehabilitation of balconies, as well as wear prevention and lifespan extension of building components, within an approach centred on safety and durability.

A second segment explored the “rejuvenation” of buildings and their multi-level parking structures, including façade and structural rehabilitation, parking structure restoration, as well as waterproofing and water management challenges. A phased approach, the use of innovative materials, and user safety were also emphasized as key factors in ensuring the long-term durability of infrastructure.

Finally, the discussions addressed the renovation of multi-residential buildings as a whole, highlighting solutions tailored to client needs and the specific constraints of each structure. Work execution based on site conditions and project complexity, safety at the core of operations, and an approach focused on performance and sustainability were widely discussed.

Time for power… and pleasure!

After a panel rich in technical insights, participants continued the evening with a convivial networking cocktail.

This special moment helped strengthen connections, expand professional networks, and foster exchanges with peers facing similar industry realities, in a relaxed yet stimulating atmosphere.

The evening then continued on a fun and dynamic note with a longest drive competition, where participants took on the challenge in a spirit of friendly competition and shared enjoyment.

Because beyond technical knowledge, networking and human experiences are an integral part of the value of these gatherings, this event successfully brought together expertise, connections, and memorable moments.
