ÉTS Formation and Les Elles de la construction join forces to advance women in the construction industry
ÉTS Formation and Les Elles de la construction join forces to advance women in the construction industry

September 14th, 2026

Les Elles de la construction are proud to announce their new partnership with ÉTS Formation, a collaboration designed to support their members’ professional development and help them reach their full potential.

As a division of École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) dedicated to training professionals already in the workforce, ÉTS Formation  shares a common goal with Les Elles de la construction: fostering skills development and elevating the role of women in the construction industry. A shared vision and a commitment to taking concrete action — this partnership was a natural fit!

Develop your skills to advance your career

“As a trusted partner in professional skills development, ÉTS Formation is proud to partner with Les Elles de la construction. We share the belief that support, learning and collaboration are powerful drivers of women’s potential, enabling them to take their place and showcase their expertise within the industry.” – Geneviève Brouillette, Director, ÉTS Formation.

This commitment to supporting women’s professional development is reflected in a portfolio of more than 300 training courses across nine areas of expertise. Each year, ÉTS Formation supports more than 8,000 managers, professionals and technicians from a variety of industries.

Project management, leadership, information technology, professional skills and other specialties: the training courses are designed to meet the concrete needs of today’s workforce and enable professionals to develop skills they can apply directly in their daily work.

Offered through public courses in Montréal, corporate training or interactive virtual classrooms, the programs adapt to the realities of individuals, teams and organizations. This practical, needs-driven approach allows professionals to pursue their development while keeping pace with the evolving industry.

This partnership opens the door to new learning and professional development opportunities for Les Elles de la construction members.

ÉTS is committed to increasing the representation of women in engineering

ÉTS Formation’s commitment to professional development is part of a broader initiative led by École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). For several years, ÉTS has been taking action to increase the representation of women in engineering, support their career paths and foster their success.

Although their presence has grown in recent years, women remain underrepresented in engineering programs. ÉTS has therefore set an ambitious goal: to have women account for at least 30% of its engineering students by 2030.

To achieve this goal and contribute to lasting cultural change, ÉTS has implemented a range of initiatives that support women at different stages of their journey, from raising awareness among young people and supporting female students to developing careers in research and teaching.

Today, women represent 27.6% of ÉTS’s graduate student population and 40% of its management staff. These figures highlight the progress made while underscoring the importance of continuing efforts to make engineering a field where women can fully develop their skills, expertise and careers.

This vision directly aligns with that of Les Elles de la construction: creating opportunities for women to reach their potential, take their place and contribute fully to the evolution of the industry. The partnership with ÉTS Formation is therefore a natural continuation of the connection between education, professional development and industry transformation.

Initiatives to Advance Women in Engineering

To achieve its goals, ÉTS has launched several initiatives that help attract, support and advance women in engineering.

  • Palmarès Féminin pluriel

Each year, the Palmarès Féminin pluriel highlights 30 ÉTS students from all levels of study, recognizing the diversity of their journeys and helping them become inspiring role models for the next generation. Award recipients also receive a $1,000 scholarship.

  • Les Ingénieuses de l’ÉTS

This student association helps foster the integration of women in engineering through social, educational and networking activities. Les Ingénieuses de l’ÉTS supports female students throughout their academic journey and also helps spark young girls’ interest in science and engineering.

  •  Femmes de génie Program

Launched in 2021, this program aims to increase the representation of women in research and among ÉTS faculty members. It provides early-career female researchers with opportunities to advance their research careers and prepare for academic careers.

  •  G-CHANGE Program

Designed for youth aged 15 to 19, the G-CHANGE Program aims to inspire the next generation of women and encourage them to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), helping them shape the world of tomorrow.

From the next generation of students to women already working in the field, these initiatives demonstrate a commitment to advancing the representation of women in engineering at different stages of their journeys and fostering lasting change. This commitment echoes the role of ÉTS Formation, which in turn supports professionals in the continuous development of their skills.
